We’ve Got the Power!

Power especially the power to effect real and meaningful change, is rarely a solitary achievement. More often, power is born out of a deep connection with others and a sense of our own true potential within the world . As women, we are no strangers to power, women have long exercised influence behind the scenes . Time has come to broaden the sphere of our influence. The time has come to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight , as women and as leaders. The time has come to get on Top of the Game. Over the last millennium women have taken long strides towards equality , independence, authority and opportunity. For the first time we live in a world of female taxi drivers , Supreme Court justices , fighter pilots and even Prime Ministers and Presidents . We even live in an age where, what have traditionally been considered female traits, strong communication skills, a collaborative instinct , a gift for juggling and emotional intelligence are today hailed as desirable leadership qualities. For those that believed marriage was our calling and meekness our virtue.. over the last century, in rapid succession, we have gained a right to be heard, to vote and the right to exercise control over our own bodies. A world in which, finally, a “NO” is to be respected and “Yes” can truly be respected .

It took me a long time to truly understand the power of being a woman. To feel empowered you have to continually make choices that are going to be in the highest good for yourself and others around you. Indeed it seems that women have begun to transform, to broaden and deepen, the whole idea of power. A woman no longer has to stop being feminine to embrace it. Nor does anyone have to sit in the vicinity of a corner office, power has many addresses.

Across-the-board, as women we are separating success from purpose, focusing less on title, career and status but more on accomplishment, influence, responsibility to ourselves and to our world. Overhauling the very concepts of influence, leader ship, clout and indeed control. To me, there may be no single better definition of power.

I love the title, Women on Top- Monaco ! but what exactly is this ..
It’s a Magazine with a difference . It’s a collaborative effort , it’s team work to give you an interesting read , different perspectives , information, soul food , luxury , lifestyle , sport, what’s happening in Monaco , places to go to and all that Jazz that makes this Principality Unique and “A favourite Destination ” for those that live here and those that aspire to !

Starting with a monthly dose but I know we are already being pursued for the daily dose ..
