Deborah Wilkes was born in the age when women were seen as fragile creatures who needed to be taken care of. Her life was full of challenges. But Deborah wasn’t deterred—she knew she could do anything she set her mind to
She learned early that women were often underestimated in the workplace, especially by the men who ran it. And that if she wanted to succeed, she would have to work twice as hard and be twice as good.
She accepted a secretarial job at a company, but it wasn’t long before she yearned for something more so she toiled for hours, burning the late-night oil. She soon climbed the ladder of success thereon and never looked back.
Eventually, Deborah found herself in HR, working her way up to Head of HR for Europe in IT and then in pharma.
She is an HR manager for a company, and she had to go through many challenges and difficulties. She had to deal with the difficult people, the difficult situations, and the difficult decisions.
She has been through it all and now she wants to share her experience with everyone else who is going through it. She wants to empower them so they can get through it too. In Empowering HRs, Deborah shares tips and tricks from her decade-long journey as an HR manager, which will empower readers to forge their own path in the field. Her goal is to help people become more confident and capable as they navigate through the world of HR.
Deborah, now runs her own business. In the past, she has been a consultant for large international companies who were looking to grow their businesses, as well as for smaller start-ups.
She is also the author of Enable-HR International which provides training courses and coaching to HR professionals who are looking to grow their careers or break into HR.
The program’s ethos is to develop professionals so they can empower other people around them, across the world, by teaching them how to be confident, competent, and communicative HR professionals.
Deborah Wilkes is a businesswoman who specialized in leadership and organizational development and she ran high-performing teams and companies. Her clients ranged from the CEOs of big companies to the heads of international organizations.
In 25 years, she developed leaders in some great companies, from GE to Vodafone, from Roche to Diageo. She had a knack for teaching executives to unlock their potential and give them powerful techniques to achieve success in their careers.
